Shoe heaven: record 100000 pairs on sale Including Havaianas Flip Flops in Selfridges

Welcome to our Havaianas Flip Flops blog. We update this blog daily with news and information about the wonderful Havaianas flip flops. Be sure to check out our Havaianas Flip Flops Page HERE which has photos, videoes and information about the famous Havaianas.
Here's the latest news about Havaianas Flip Flops; The title once belonged to Saks Fifth Avenue in the heart of Carrie Bradshaw's New York stamping ground. Then last year the Galeries Lafayette in Paris took sole possession of the crown.
But from today the world's biggest women's shoe department, all 35,000 square feet of it, lies in the heart of the West End, occupying most of Selfridges' second floor.
The vast space, opened by Tamara Drewe star Gemma Arterton, has 5,000 pairs of shoes on display and up to 100,000 in stock ? enough to satisfy even the most obsessive shoe addict.
More than 150 brands are represented, from high street names such as River Island and Topshop to the world's best-known designers, including Jimmy Choo and Prada.
The prices range from a $25 pair of Havaianas flip-flops to $1,750 for a spectacular pair of platform Balenciagas.
The 10 million Shoe Galleries, said to be larger than Tate Modern's cavernous Turbine Hall, are arranged over six "salons", each with a different theme and look. They climb in price and exclusivity, from relatively accessible Rooms One and Two housing the high street names to designer label Room Six with views of gardens behind the Oxford Street department store.
They are surrounded by 11 boutiques, or "apartments" as Selfridges likes to call them, each reflecting the homes or lifestyle of the showcased designer.
For example, the Christian Louboutin room recreates his Paris home with a red carpet and digital print wallpaper and objets d'art such as a trompe l'oeil chandelier.
The Jimmy Choo room has the same gold foil ceiling and faux tusk table as the New York apartment of its designer Tamara Mellon.
But if the Selfridges Shoe Galleries can rightly claim to be the biggest women's footwear department on earth, they still lag a little way behind the world's biggest shoe shop.
That title belongs to the rather less glamorous, 36,000 square foot Reyers store in the town of Sharon, Pennsylvania.

  1. It’s so difficult to find great-looking flip-flops that are comfortable to wear, but I found both in Havaianas. The only downside to this product is the price. I might say it’s worth it, but still a little heavy on the pocket.
